How the All Carbon Fiber Alfa 4C Is Built

And despite only having a 237-horsepower four-cylinder under the hood, it’s also able to hit 60 mph in barely more than four seconds. The Alfa Romeo 4C doesn’t offer any luxury features, but its light weight, simplicity, and manual steering make it an absolute blast to drive.

How is that possible? Well, a large part of that is the result of its carbon-fiber construction. In the world of quarter-million-dollar super cars, a carbon fiber chassis is no big deal. But for less than $100,000, it’s essentially unheard of.

So what’s the process of assembling this car look like?  If you have visions of men haphazardly hammering pieces of metal together in a shed behind a house, then you’re in for a surprise. The 4C’s production process isn’t like that at all.
