Maserati Quattroporte Features Stylish Face-Lift In 2017

Pricing and U.S. launch timing were not announced. MODENA, Italy — The 2017 Maserati Quattroporte luxury sedan gets a dose of Italian glamour for the new model year, courtesy of a stylish face-lift.

The updates to the Quattroporte are designed to make it more competitive against the Audi A8 L, Jaguar XJL and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The restyled Quattroporte features new bumpers with matte black accents. Other exterior cues include matte black side skirts and exterior mirrors.

An electrically adjustable Air Shutter is located in the front bumper, helping to improve the aerodynamic drag of the car by 10 percent, according to Maserati.

Interior upgrades include a redesigned center stack with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.

All Quattroporte cars are now equipped with an air-quality sensor that prevents pollution from entering the cabin.

A new package of driver-assistance systems is optional and includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning and emergency braking. Buyers also can check the box for a new surround-view camera.

Two additional trim levels are available: GranLusso and GranSport. Maserati said they are available as an upgrade for all Quattroporte V6 models.

The GranLusso has a unique front bumper with body-colored inserts and an Ermenegildo Zegna Edition interior with silk fabric.

The GranSport model is calculated to give the Quattroporte an “aggressive appearance.”

Details include a piano black spoiler, 20-inch Titano wheels, red brake calipers and a new sport steering wheel.

Powertrain options include a 3.-8-liter turbocharged V8 engine that produces 523 horsepower in the Quattroporte GTS and a 404-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 in the Quattroporte S.

Edmunds says: The 2017 Quattroporte enters the fray with some important new driver aids, stylish exclusivity and impressive performance.
