2018 Hyundai Sonata Starts at $22,935 – Motor Trend

The refreshed 2018 Hyundai Sonata will go on sale this summer starting at $22,935, up $150 from the current 2017 Sonata SE.

Priced competitively with the base Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry, the Sonata SE comes with a host of standard features. Notable ones include a seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, a six-speaker sound system, and cloth seats. The base SE trim comes with a 185-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed automatic.

After the base model, there is the Sonata Eco, which makes use of a seven-speed dual-clutch and 1.6-liter turbo-four engine producing 178 hp. Prices for this model begin at $23,535. Next up is the SEL trim, which adds a hands-free trunk, chrome exterior door handles, 10-way power driver seat with power adjustable lumbar, and heated front seats. This vehicle comes with the same 2.4-liter engine as the base model and is priced from $24,585.

Sport models add a dual exhaust, power tilt and slide sunroof, sport seats, aluminum pedals, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and other features for a starting price of $26,085. Limited models, which start at $28,285, bring along leather seating surfaces and other upgraded interior materials. Both of these models are paired with the 2.4-liter engine.

Buyers who want the upgraded 2.0-liter turbo engine with 245 hp have two trims to choose from: the Sport 2.0T and the Limited 2.0T. These models are the most expensive in the Sonata lineup, starting at $28,485 and $33,335 respectively. Both come with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
