Refreshing or Revolting: 2017 Nissan Rogue

The automaker has given the 2017 Nissan Rogue a mid-cycle refresh. Other changes to the second-generation Rogue, which debuted in 2014, include a new hybrid model and more active safety features detailed in our First Look. Below is an examination of the styling changes Nissan made to its popular compact crossover.

The most noticeable changes are up front where the 2017 Nissan Rogue gains a new mug with a bolder version of Nissan’s signature “V-Motion” grille with a thick chrome insert, revised boomerang headlights with LED daytime running lights, and a new front fascia with redesigned fog lights.

Changes along the side are more subtle and include chrome trim on the lower doors above the black rocker trim. The Rogue still comes standard with 17-inch wheels, though a set of aggressively styled 19-inch alloys are a new option.

Around back, the Rogue has been upgraded with Nissan’s signature LED boomerang taillights and more aggressive rear bumper with bright trim work and reflectors near the bottom.

Inside, the refreshed Nissan Rogue gains a new D-shaped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shifter. Other new features include revised door and dashboard panel material, restyled shift knob, revised center console and lid, and new seat fabric. The top trim SL model is available with a new Platinum Reserve Interior Package with a tan leather seats with quilted inserts.

It’s still tough ass looking as ever-but the badges?! Ford had probably sucked up too much sleeping pills that they lost their minds.” scooby van simply said, “I’ve seen lots of ugly trucks, and this is one of them. Ford does it again.”
