Now Colonial Honda of Dartmouth Harnesses Technology To Book Service Appointments in Real Time

That means customers will be able to set up an appointment and know instantly what time is available without going back and forth with an advisor, along with how much the service will cost based on menu pricing.

DARTMOUTH, Massachusetts — Colonial Honda of Dartmouth is ushering in a real-time instant-service appointment feature on its website beginning June 1.

The menu includes an “I’m in a hurry” feature that books the next available spot, which can be minutes from the current time.

While customers have been able to use the online appointment feature for a few weeks during a soft launch, Mike Ciavattone, Colonial Honda’s service manager, told Edmunds that he’s been working with the information-technology department to add more codes to make the website service offerings more complete.

Ciavattone believes the online appointment service will help the service department be quicker and more efficient.

“It’s nice because the program lets the service advisor easily know the vehicle’s history,” he said.

There is an educational element as well.

“We have videos on there, too, which show how we complete a flush, for instance, and we’ve heard a lot of people like to have those videos to help them understand what will be done on their car,” Ciavattone said.

Eventually, the service-scheduling tools will integrate with new Honda models, allowing car owners to book their appointments right from the information center on the dashboard.

“It’s super user-friendly and I’m sure customers are going to love it,” Ciavattone said.

Edmunds says: Time-crunched customers will love this new offering from Colonial Honda of Dartmouth.
